Over the next 10 years, we will be investing more than £2.5 billion to reduce the risk from river and coastal flooding and to secure social and environmental improvements. Our professional relationships with suppliers will be crucial to delivering these risk reductions and improvements.
Through our Next Generation Supplier Arrangements (NGSA) project, we are establishing the Water and Environment Management (WEM) Framework. This Framework will be available in 2013 giving access to suppliers in the Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management (FCERM) market.
The WEM Framework will be available to all directorates within the Environment Agency, other risk management authorities and Defra delivery bodies. These include local authorities and internal drainage boards.
What is the scope of the WEM Framework?
The Water and Environment Management Framework is divided into four Lots. These are:
1. Modelling, mapping and data services
2. Environmental services
3. Engineering and related services
4. Asset delivery
The WEM Framework will run from 2013 for four years delivering projects across the country and supporting the Environment Agency in the delivery of its corporative targets and efficiency savings.
