Building or expanding dairy units

Our postion statement (June 2011) sets out our role in the local authority-led decision making process for planning applications and outlines the environmental issues associated with building or expanding a dairy unit.

We want to ensure that farmers and/or applicants, as well as planning authorities and interested parties, understand:

  • the environmental issues that need to be considered;
  • where we can provide expert advice;
  • what our role is.
