Adaptation reporting power in the Climate Change Act 2008

Summary

The Environment Agency welcomes the opportunity to respond to this consultation on the Adaptation Reporting Power. Climate change poses risks to every aspect of society and it is crucial that those responsible for the vital services on which society relies prepare for climate change. The Reporting Power is an important tool in this process.

We are at the forefront of national efforts to adapt to climate change, and we welcome the proposal that we should be listed as a priority reporting authority and that we will have the opportunity to report on our work in this area.
